The Reality of Mainstream Creator-Owned ComicsA lot of people have asked me about how they go about creating and selling their own comics. There are many different ways to do that, but most people I talk to want to see their books for sale in comic shops alongside mainstream superhero/big publisher titles.

For those that don't know, it's a fan-made episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that has been legally sanctioned by Hasbro and DHX Media, directed by :iconflamingorich:, a friend of mine at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It's set release date is March 30th, so be sure to subscribe to Zach's YouTube page so that you're there when it's released!
I worked on the film, though regrettably only on background inking. I had actually planned on doing character animation and was in the process of learning to animate the puppets over last summer, but at that time summer many annoying and aggravating complications with my personal life prevented me from committing more of my time, but I'm grateful I got to work on it at a

A Darker He-Man StoryI recently finished http://cdn.ifanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Masters-of-the-Universe_The-Origin-of-Skeletor_Full-665x1024.jpg. You remember that wacky, cheesy 80s animated series and the more-action-packed-but-still-kids-oriented 2002 reboot series? Yeah? Well, this isn't like either of those things. At all. In fact, I wouldn't even recommend this for small kids.
Readers, this is a He-Man story telling it like the adults want it. And...
...it's actually done right.
With the Origin of Skeletor, it may be slightly more than a glimpse with 32 pages in length, and it may have originated from some toyetic merch back in the 80s, but by jove, this is a narrative that takes a beloved 80s tale and weaves in into something that those then-80s kids want as adults.
I know what you're thinking. "Oh, it's just taking something meant for kids and making it dark and gritty for the sake of appealing to a more 'grown-up' audience and it's just a mosh of souped up mindless explicit

I will be starting the first lesson of my Livestream Figure Drawing course as of the information below.

Please sure to come with plenty of questions and eager minds. Don't be afraid to draw while I do! In fact, I recommend it!

I was thrilled to be a guest on the award-winning Writing Excuses podcast hosted by Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn, The Wheel of Time), Mary Robinette Kowal (Shades of Milk and Honey) and Howard Tayler (Schlock Mercenary).
